The Top End EuroAmerican Handcycling Championships is one of the nation’s premiere handcycling events. Utilizing the same 26-mile-long course as that run by the marathoners, the handcycling race offers great straight aways and challenging bridge climbs and drops.

Capped with a field limit of 80 handcyclists and with a mandatory prior marathon finishing time of 2 hours, 30 minutes or better, the event attracts many of the world’s best. (Cyclists must complete the first lap in 1:10.)

Handcyclists must be able to complete the first 13 miles of the course in 1 hour, 15 minutes or better. Those handcyclists exceeding this time limit on the first 13 miles of the course will no be allowed to complete the entire marathon.

The race’s mid-winter timeframe draws handcyclists from all over while its cash prize purse of $7,000.00 brings in the sport’s true elites. This is truly an inspirational and popular part of the State Farm Melbourne & Beaches Music Marathon Weekend.
